This is the first single from UK indie folk Noah and The Whale's new album 'Last Night On Earth'. Although it was released in early March, I have only just begun to hear it on the radio here (on high-rotation might I add). At first I thought I was listening to the intro of 'Lola' by The Kinks because they are so similar! I did some YouTubing and so many other people have thought the same thing! While I can appreciate the fun loving nature of the song (you know, life goes on, having no regrets and such), I'm not too sure if I will be able to stay true to these sentiments once I hear it another thirty-something times.
What do you think?
This song is so catchy. The new album is a fun listen. I'm limiting how many times I play it though because I know what you mean about hearing a song one too many times haha
ReplyDeleteSuch a feel good tune, I love it :)

Oooh I am yet to purchase the new album.. Thanks!
ReplyDeleteYou are right, it does sounds almost exactly like Lola...just with different lyrics. I wonder how influential The Kinks version was to them. I love Noah and The Whale for this exact feel...upbeat and catchy. =)
ReplyDeleteOh I absolutely adore Noah & the Whale! <3
ReplyDeleteIt took me weeks to work out what he was spelling. I kept hearing this song in work and just couldn't concentrate enough to hear all of the letters!
ReplyDeleteThank you all for your comments! I recently purchased the album and I was definitely wrong when I said that I may not stay true to my sentiments. I am in absolute love!
